FAMILY PAWS VETERINARY REFERRAL FOR FELINE AND CANINE BEHAVIOURAL ASSESSMENT
All our assessments are conducted via initial veterinary referral in order to ensure that this support is delivered safely, effectively and with the best interest of a pet’s overall health and wellbeing.
If you own a cat or dog that you feel may benefit from a behavioural assessment, please speak to your vet in the first instance. If your vet confirms that this is a behavioural matter, you can provide them with the referral form (via the online form linked below or as a downloadable document here) to complete and return to us in order to begin the assessment process.
Why is a vet referral important?
- Behavioural issues can link to underlying medical conditions which need to be managed by a vet, alongside the behavioural support we offer.
- This ensures we are dealing with root cause and contributory issues that can otherwise hamper progress.
- A vet might also provide necessary clinical input where treatment may involve medication alongside the behavioural techniques that we provide.
This form is ONLY to be filled in by a veterinary surgeon at the practice where the pet is registered.
